Actress Dolly Bindra has filed a case on Koena Mitra for cheating her, threat to life, harresment, malingning her image in print, under Indian penal code –506 and 420 .

The Borivali court has ordered Malad police to arrest Koena, Bobby Darling, Alok Srivastava, Meraj shah, and file an investigation report before 24th August.

According to Bindra, she had approached Koena with a role in her film. For that after all the talks, Bindra gave Rs 5 lakhs as a token amount to Koena Mitra in November at Bandra's Taj Land's End
But later, Koena refused to work in her film and avoided her phone calls. According to Bindra, Koena was misguided by Bobby Darling and Alok Shrivastava.

Says Bindra, "I've been visiting the Malad police station since last Saturday to register a case against all the three, but as the police station was told by a politician not to register any case against Koena, he refused to register the case.

I was called by the senior police inspector of Malad on Monday, but when I reached the police station he was not there. Finally I approached the Borivali court with my lawyer, which ordered the Malad police station to file a case against the trio.

Mumbai, June 26 (IANS) Kangana Ranaut, who shot to fame with her debut film "Gangster", has started taking classical singing lessons to silence critics who say her dialogue delivery is poor.

"I wake up religiously at 4 in the morning and get ready for my riyaaz (practice). My guru is Amitabh Chakraborty. He arrives on the dot at 5 in the morning and we practise for a good two hours before I leave for shooting."

Apparently Kangana's neighbours in her building were initially wary of the music. Now they have got used to it.

Kangana not only hopes to master the ragas but she is confident that classical singing would help her improve her voice quality.

"I'm sick and tired of people complaining about my dialogue delivery. I didn't want to just take diction and voice classes. That's why I decided to kill two birds with one stone.

"I'm grateful that my guruji agreed to teach me at this age. He says one can learn classical singing either before 13 or after 40. I don't fit into either category. But stubborn as ever, I insisted, and now Guruji is very happy with my progress."

Such is her mastery over the ragas that Kangana hopes to release an album some day.

"And that's not all. Next I plan to learn guitar. Maybe Saif and I can perform at a concert together."

While Yash Raj films which has released 250 prints of the movie in Bombay territory alone will certainly make some money from the first week ticket sales to unsuspecting cinema-goers, a few more movies like this and people may forget that Yash Chopra gave us classics like 'Lamhe' and 'Kabhi Kabhi' and out-and-out entertainers like 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge'.

On another note, Amitabh Bachchan in his heyday would create a long gap after a succcesful release and hasten to release a movie after one of his movies bombed. If a new promising film was not ready for release, he would revive his last hit to divert the attention from the flop.,

On the same lines, Bachchan Jr., not having an impending release has apparently had posters of his last release, 'Guru' pasted at strategic locations in the city, following the debacle of 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' to remind people that he did figure in a successful flick not too long ago. While 'Guru' was certainly no 'Sholay', it was a moderate success especially in urban Indian cities and overseas.

Shahid-Kareena doing DDLJ 2 ?

Yes, we all know that DDLJ is the most romantic film of our times. The chemistry between Shah Rukh and Kajol is just mind blowing. And who can forget the classic climax scene – Kajol running with the train, SRK grabbing her hand and helping her board the train.

Well, seems like the new ages lovers of Bollywood, Shahid and Kareena are trying to recreate the magic in their upcoming film. In fact, they are doing it quite literally by replicating the train scene in Imtiaz Ali’s untitled film, produced by Sri Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd.

It is said that Kareena had a tough time shooting this scene. Kareena was supposed to run and board a running train, but the train gained speed which made her nervous. She was also hesitated to do the scene after she failed to do it a number of times. Director Imtiaz Ali then thought of scrapping the scene to avoid any mishap. Kareena however, didn’t want to give up and after a few attempts, she got it right. Shahid obviously got it right as he was replicating SRK.

Did Shahid and Kareena get it right and will they be able to recreate the same magic is to be seen.

Jhoom Barabar Jhoom : Movie Review

It may fall a wee bit short of the high expectations that were attached to it, but Jhoom Barabar Jhoom verily delivers what it promises – unadulterated entertainment.

The movie solely rests on the now-dependable shoulders of Abhishek Bachchan , who once again proves that he has got the mettle to live up to the credentials and reputation of his bloodline. The actor, once brooding and uptight, has now begun to loosen up. His comic timing is coming in place. His facial expressions are more real and his body language reflects the character. Abhishek is the driving force of ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’. Preity Zinta complements him well, while Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta remain mainly on the sidelines until the film’s last half hour.
You’ve got to throw cynicism aside before watching a film like JBJ. It is easy to curl your lip and poke holes in somebody’s work. Not so easy is to be flexible, to step back and take an impartial look at how a director has tried to present a story in a different way.

Yes, JBJ is a movie different from others of its ilk. Although it is set in London and Paris, the movie has a very desi touch. Perhaps the reason for it is that Shaad Ali , the film’s director, has himself been a small-towner. The humour in the flick is crude and has a street flavour even though the visuals are very glossy.

Amitabh Bachchan dressed in his rockstar outfit and carrying a guitar, opens the film with the song ‘Jhoom’.

The location is London train station. Two strangers are waiting for a delayed train. In a crowded café they share the same table.

Rikki Thukral (Abhishek Bachchan), a Punjabi guy living in London, breaks the ice and begins the conversation. Alvira Khan (Preity Zinta) gives him no lift. To ward Rikki off, she tells him she is engaged to someone who is coming from the train she is waiting for. In response, Rikki also flaunts his engagement ring and tells her he has come to receive his fiancée.

Thereafter, these two strangers, already engaged to someone else, begin to tell each other the story of their fiancée and fiancé.

Rikki tells Alvira how he met Anaida (Lara Dutta), the manager of Ritz in Paris on the same night when Princess Diana and Dody Fayed walked out for the car ride that claimed their life. “When two lovers die, two new lovers are born,” claims Rikki.

In turn, Alvira tells him how she met Steve (Bobby Deol) in London’s Madame Tussaud’s museum. Like a typical hero, Steve had then saved Alvira’s life and won her heart in return.

When the train’s arrival time is due, Rikki and Alvira separate, only to find out that the train has been delayed further. Rather than being disappointed, the two begin to look for each other. The cupid has done his work.

The movie’s story is poised for a complex love quadrangle. But director Shaad Ali surprises you. Instead of wallowing into a romantic quagmire, he takes the movie onto an entirely unexpected track. Lies of Rikki and Alvira are exposed. Lara Dutta and Bobby Deol do enter the picture, but in the roles you would not have expected.

‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ is not a romantic drama. It is a musical comedy about two unlikely people falling in love with each other. The good thing is that the movie steers clear of any mushy sentimentality. Even in romance there is teasing and humour.

The film is very high on style and gloss. The costumes by Aki Narula are gaudy but they go well with the mood of the film. The music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is very catchy, particularly the song ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ and its simple tune that keeps playing in the background at many places in the film. The cinematography is top-class and the editing is crisp.

Abhishek Bachchan is getting better with every film. He brings a rustic quality into his character Rikki. He speaks in Punjabi accent, his humour is crass and his demeanor has oodles of attitude of a man who thinks he has “got class”. A very good performance by Abhi indeed.

Bobby Deol, sadly, is made to look caricaturish in the second half. Also, Bobby doesn’t have as natural flair for comedy as Abhi has.

Preity Zinta complements Abhi well. Lara is perfectly cast in the role of a sexy, spitfire girl.

‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ starts off very well but it begins to drag a bit in the second half. Thankfully, the drag is not for long. The penultimate dance competition sequence is quite entertaining despite three songs placed back-to-back.

Shaad Ali’s funda is simple : to provide paisa vasool entertainment. And he does succeed to an extent.

Don’t go expecting moon from this film and you will enjoy it.

John and Bips may call it quits with their relationship?

Recently there has been a lot of speculation regarding John and Bipasha’s relationship. In fact both John and Bips have recently been linked with other people and sources claim this has caused a lot of friction between the couple. Sources also add that recently when John and Bips were shooting for their film Goal together in London they couldn’t stop fighting and hence after they returned from shooting they decided to go their separate ways. However there have been rumours in the past too that the couple have split, but they managed to get over their problems. What happens this time round remains to be seen.

Sources add that the couple decided to call it quits before Bips could leave for the Iifa event at Yorkshire where she was slated to perform and John too agreed before he left for the shooting his film Aashayein down south. Recently Bips has been spotted in public with ex-flame Dino and even at another event the two were seen bonding with each other. Bips who was also shooting for her film Race with co-star Saif has been linked with the actor. One of the main reasons for their break-up was their constant quarrels and the fact that recently they were doing a lot of it. In fact sources claim John was not too happy when Bips was chosen as his co-star for Goal and earlier when asked to recommend an actress’s name for the film he preferred Priyanka Chopra and did not even mention girlfriend Bipasha. Ultimately though Bips was chosen as the lead opposite him and John didn’t want to act unprofessional so he went along with the director’s decision. After they returned from the shooting schedule of Goal too, John preferred to spend time with a friend who is a model turned actress and spent time giving her advice on how to manage her bollywood career.

But the couple is perhaps still not planning to make any official announcement of their split, which means there maybe some hope of reconciliation between the couple. Bips also recently claimed that she was missing John a lot and planned to join him on his shooting schedule down south for a few days. But sources maintain once more that the couple is not announcing their split due to their professional commitments together, especially now that they will soon have their film together releasing. Well it could be a false alarm once more, so we’re all just going to wait for the couple to come clean this time round.

Nandu (Bobby Deol) an orphan turned assassin somehow gets wrongly accused of a politician's murder and is on the run. On his escapade on a train he meets Shekhar (Pradeep), who is homebound after fourteen years, they get chatting and Nandu finds all about his joint family and the wedding of Shekhar's cousin that he is going to attend.

However the police catch up with Nandu on the train and shoot at him but Shekhar shields Nandu and dies on the spot. Nandu goes to Shekhar's family home in his village to return his grandfathers watch and also to break the news of his grandson's death to him. However it turns out that Shekhar's family mistakes Nandu for Shekhar and makes him a part of the celebration at home.

Preet (Shriya Saran), who is the daughter of Shekhar's grandfather's friend is in awe of Nandu and falls in love with him. CBI Inspector Rane (Nana Patekar), is given the responsibility of tracking down the killer and is after Nandu.

"If I am a king, Amitabh is an emperor" – Rajnikanth

A popular television channel recently aired an opinion poll on who's the popular star – Amitabh Bachchan or Rajnikanth? A majority of the voters favored Rajnikanth.

However Rajnikanth was quick to react. The Super Star of Tamil Cinema, whose Sivaji has witnessed a phenomenal opening all around the globe, has openly stated that he is no comparison to Amitabh Bachahan.

"I admire Amitabh and I am his ardent fan. No way, I can be compared to the Big B", he says and adds, "If I am a king then Amitabh is an emperor".

Shootout At Lokhandwala Movie Review : Super Hit

Maybe this is what I can confirm about a couple of days from now, but I’m kind of psychic with such things. That is why right after watching the movie Shootout At Lokhandwala, I can say that this is one of “those” films. We have seen movies like Satya, Company, Omkara and a couple of others like Ab Tak Chappan, Gangajal, D and so on that have dealt with the underworld and police. This movie is supposed to be Apoorva Lakhia’s take on the much discussed encounter that happened at Lokhandwala which involved six terrorists. It has been ripped apart and not a single angle has been left over to speculate.

The movie, in addition to showing the shootout sequence also tells us about the backgrounds of all the key people involved - in true Bollywood style. The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) which is represented by Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, and Arbaaz Khan are the model good guys who will even lay down their lives for the law and the country; that is so like other law enforcers in real life! The terrorist team is made up of Vivek Oberoi, Tusshar Kapoor, Rohit Roy and they each have their tormented lives that are supposed to be justifications for their anti social tendencies. For the eye candy we have Dia Mirza- who plays the role of a journalist. She is fighting for the masses and is against the harsh treatment of the criminals. There is also Aarti Chabbria as a bar girl and well, that’s it. Amrita Singh makes a come back on the silver screen as the mother of the famed Maya Dolas (played by Oberoi). Now that we have mentioned all those in the film, lets getting down to ripping them apart.

First off, the police guys- Suniel Shetty has GOT TO learn to act. There is more to it than just screaming and bad mouthing the press. Hey, maybe this is his way of getting back at the press for the less than flattering picture they paint of him as an actor. And Lakhia, get a little bit more realistic- real cops do not go quoting in English, Hindi and Urdu. It is just a big no-no.

As for the gangsters, well are you sure you want to peek into that closet? They have had so many problems growing up that it will be a psychiatrist’s dream come true to treat them. Though Vivek has done a good job (surprisingly), it is lost somewhere in the humdrum of the haphazard plot.

The main problem is that Lakhia has gotten in a lot of parallel tracks and this has led to a botched up film. Also, he has been very creative and imaginative with his story construction, leading to a potential lawsuit from Dola’s mother.

I was really zapped by the movie and trust the psychic reviewer, this one is an atom bomb and it will destroy all the financers of this great film.

Shilpa is dating Imran Khan?

Rumours of a romance between the two sparked off after they were reportedly matched up at Elizabeth Hurley's Indian wedding to Arun Nayer earlier this year (07).

However, Shilpa has laughed off the rumours and insisted that she only met the handsome cricketer-turned-politician ‘exactly a minute’.

Mini biography:
Shivaji Rao Gaekwad (Rajnikanth) was born on December 12, 1949 in Karnataka. Looking to become an actor, he moved to Chennai and joined the film institute. It was here that he caught the eye of K. Rajnikanth soon graduated to playing villains and his style, swagger and casually unique brand of villainy vowed the movie-going public. Rajnikanth firmly captured the vacant, action-hero slot in tamil movies with a series of movies where he routinely bashed up the bad guys who had done him injustice in one way or the other. Once in a while he did movies like Aarulirundhu Arubadhu Varai or Johny which gave us glimpses of his acting potential. But action was what the fans expected from a Rajni movie and action was what he gave them. He has been superstar for the past 25 years.
